Darkness Be My Friend

Posted in Hopeful Poems, Poems, Sad Poems with tags , , , , , , on November 10, 2013 by Myra's Circle

Darkness, lead me through the light,
Darkness, get me through the night,
Get me past all the lies,
Hug me when I never cry.

Give me hope when there is none,
Let me never see the sun,
Don’t let me die in this way,
Let me die another day.

Don’t go, darkness, don’t leave me here,
All alone my thoughts unclear,
Take me back to better days,
When I enjoyed all the sun’s rays.

Darkness, you’re my only friend,
My best one, you will never end,
You never completely disappear,
Darkness, take me away from here.

Sadness is found

Sadness is found at 3 am,

Between the covers of a book

You couldn’t bear to put down,

for fear that it would attack again.

Sadness hides in memories,

Livid as sea foam,

Something you wouldn’t dare to destroy.

Sadness lies in sleeping heads,

haunting their dreams,

Their one freedom.

And sadness lies in it’s victim’s hearts,

Cold as a stone devoid of sunlight,

Making them scared of ever

Returning to light.

The Loneliness of Dark

Posted in Poems, Sad Poems with tags , , , , , , , on September 4, 2013 by Myra's Circle

When all else fails,
My final regret,
My only escape,
My only freedom is dark.
When darkness comes,
It comes alone,
Free of others’ dark influence,
Taking everything,
Leaving me lonely.
It takes my dreams,
Renders me lost,
I can’t breathe,
But somehow,
I don’t want to.
The only thing I ever wanted,
The only life I needed,
The only escape I had,
Was
The empty loneliness of dark.

Hypnotising

Constantly drawn into
A hypnotising sadness,
Never ending,
It has the power
To draw me in
To lure me out
Into the open
And
Kill
Me.

I’m scared
Of this
Darkness
inside
of
Me.

The Darkest Place

Posted in Hopeful Poems, Nature Poems, Poems, Sad Poems with tags , , , , , , , on July 26, 2013 by Myra's Circle

This is the darkest place I know,
From which all darknesses seem to flow,
It’s in my heart, and in my mournful glare,
This darkness, it is everywhere.

Tell me of a place, somewhere long ago,
A place where no human dared to go,
Tell me of it’s darkness, and of it’s strange light,
And how it seemed to escape from our sight.

Maybe that’s where darkness ends,
After all these minds it rends,
In a place no one can see,
A land untouched by you, or me.

Please tell me, where is this land,
A place as gentle as the touch of a hand,
As fair as the flowers blooming in spring,
As clear as a melody’s beautiful ring.

If this place is simply not here,
Can we make one up, my dear?
Can we exist in an imaginary place?
Can we survive in the smile on your face?

How could this land possibly be real?
If I know, my lips are sealed,
For I’m in a place where humans dare not to go,
And this is the darkest place I know.

Just End It

I try to remember the things that I said,
To make so many hate me,
Including me,
The words won’t come back,
No matter how I scream,
They’ll stay there forever,
And ever it seems.

Make it stop, the pain I feel,
Let it go forever,
I cannot breathe no more,
It’s killing me.

It’s darkness, it’s demons,
Wash them all away,
Chase it all down with some liquor,
Maybe not,
Although I tried,
I cannot be brave enough,
I’ll always be weak,
Weaker than them.

Please, end this,
Even if I must myself,
Perhaps I’ll be better,
Maybe someday.

When the Sky Fell Down

Posted in Poems, Sad Poems with tags , , , , , , , , on July 5, 2013 by Myra's Circle

Then the sky fell into the emerald sea,
Made man and mermaid alike gasp in awe,
And all who witnessed such beautiful sight,
Would only suffer by the hand of a claw,
No sadness would be worth the fall,
No such awful pain beknown,
The terror of the deathly thrall.
So the sea and the sky became one,
United in the pitch blackness of the night,
Nothing could escape such blunder,
Not even the birds that took flight.
For under their wings, black feathers grew,
Till they flew no longer,
Yet as the darkness spread and flourished,
It could only grow even stronger.
A light, a single lantern, lit the night,
The night it was no more,
It shined brighter than any mere candle,
And that’s when the sky hit the floor.
It came down with a thud,
And no more pain could befall,
The day the sky fell down to the floor,
Oh, such a terrible thrall.
