Words In Sand

Posted in Happy Poems, Hopeful Poems, Nature Poems, Poems with tags , , , , , , , , , on November 10, 2013 by Myra's Circle

Words written in sand,
Never fade,
They float to people’s hearts,
Carried by the winds and the oceans.
Words written on stone,
While away with time,
The oceans wearing the tired rock,
Into something small and meaningless.
But words written on paper,
Fade slowly and beautifully,
Unashamed of their short lifespan,
Their meaning burnt into our hearts.

She is

She is beautiful,

Simple like a flower,

Open to new ideas,

Her petals reaching out.

She is confident,

Dripping with laughter,

Every moment,

Of every day.

She is perfect,

From her hair to her eyes,

Oh, those sparkling, sad eyes,

She is worth it.

She is beautiful,

My hope, my dreams, my heart,

She is everything,

She is who I want to be

She is not me.

The Darkest Place

Posted in Hopeful Poems, Nature Poems, Poems, Sad Poems with tags , , , , , , , on July 26, 2013 by Myra's Circle

This is the darkest place I know,
From which all darknesses seem to flow,
It’s in my heart, and in my mournful glare,
This darkness, it is everywhere.

Tell me of a place, somewhere long ago,
A place where no human dared to go,
Tell me of it’s darkness, and of it’s strange light,
And how it seemed to escape from our sight.

Maybe that’s where darkness ends,
After all these minds it rends,
In a place no one can see,
A land untouched by you, or me.

Please tell me, where is this land,
A place as gentle as the touch of a hand,
As fair as the flowers blooming in spring,
As clear as a melody’s beautiful ring.

If this place is simply not here,
Can we make one up, my dear?
Can we exist in an imaginary place?
Can we survive in the smile on your face?

How could this land possibly be real?
If I know, my lips are sealed,
For I’m in a place where humans dare not to go,
And this is the darkest place I know.

the broken
and battered,
the bold,
And beautiful.

You are Beautiful

Posted in Hopeful Poems, Poems with tags , , , on July 1, 2013 by Myra's Circle

You’re in an awful state of mind
You’ve even started to believe,
Those voices that say they are kind,
Yet they only make you grieve.

They’ve totally convinced you,
Of things unable to unthink,
Now you think that they are true,
But to see truth you need but to blink.

You need to see that it’s all okay,
I think someday you will see that,
Someday you’ll see as clear as day,
You are beautiful and that is that.

You are beautiful, is that clear?
You are not ugly, or stupid or fat,
You are you, I love you my dear,
For being precisely that.

You dream of being someone else,
Of being happy again,
But think again, for that dream is false,
When you have such wonderful friends.

Keep dreaming, stop doubting,
All the little things,
They are what I love about,
You, the one who always sings.

I’m Nothing Special

I know that I’m no genius,
And that I’m not much of a sight,
Of me, please don’t make a fuss,
If I disappear in the night.

I know I’m not that great,
I know I’m not important,
But of all, it’s me I hate,
In the very last possible instant.

I can’t do anything much without help,
I’m ugly, shy and dumb,
I can’t explain to you how I’ve felt,
Suffocated under my own thumb.

I can’t hear your voice through the fog of my mind,
I know I must seem so thick,
And I also must be a little blind,
Just a little bit.

I can’t see how ‘beautiful’,
Everyone says I am,
All I see is something dull,
I don’t understand.

So goodbye to those who swear I’m happy,
Goodbye, I want no more,
Goodbye, I no longer want to see,
Anything but the approaching floor.

How to Be Beautiful

Posted in Poems with tags , , , , , , , , , , on April 27, 2013 by Myra's Circle

Dear the girls,
Who ‘aren’t good enough’
Whose lives are so hard,
And things seem so tough.

Dear the girls,
Who try more than is fair,
Who give all that they’ve got,
And still no one cares.

Here are some tips,
To help you on your way,
And I know you’ll realise,
That your lives are okay.

Wear too much makeup,
And dress like a slut,
And act like you don’t care,
With your face in your butt,

Make sure you sound stupid,
Whenever you speak,
And don’t try to think at all,
Cos’ that’d make you weak.

How to be beautiful?
Some people may well ask,
Then don’t do these things,
And that line you’ll have passed.

You don’t need these things,
To make you seem pretty,
You just need to be confident,
And clever and witty.

Did You Ever Get That Feeling?

Posted in Happy Poems, Poems with tags , , , on April 10, 2013 by Myra's Circle

Did you ever get that feeling,
So beautiful at first,
Inside your head is reeling,
It simply cannot be a curse.

Did you ever get the feeling,
That you’re so very far away,
The road ahead unyielding,
And your heart’s in disarray.

Did you ever get that feeling,
It comes over you like a storm,
And your mind is just peeling back,
Like the sea upon the shore.

If you ever get that feeling,
Be sure to let me know,
Though it’s no certain dealing,
I’ll be there to hold you close.

Beautiful Lie

Posted in Poems, Sad Poems with tags , , , , , , , on February 10, 2013 by Myra's Circle

This beautiful lie,

It is heavy as a sigh,

My heart cannot carry,

It, and in business will not tarry.

It is the sort of thing,

Only strong people think,

“I can do it,”

Is the sentence that it ends with.

Try to be strong,

But strength works too long,

For those people who hope for,

Something much more.

No one finds out,

Though you try to shout,

For the beautiful lie each and every day,

“I’m okay.”

You are Beautiful

Posted in Happy Poems, Poems with tags , , , , , , on January 8, 2013 by Myra's Circle

You look in the mirror,

At your ordinary face,

Never did you once guess,

That you are beautiful,

Beyond comparison.

You see your reflection,

Not good enough,

But never once did you see,

The beauty that’s there,

Staring back at you.

You judge by what other people are,

Too skinny, too fat,

And never once did you see,

How beautiful you are,

How talented.

You never once realised,

You are beautiful,

And never did you ever see,

That simple fact,

Staring you in the face.

You see a reflection,

But do you see yourself?

For the beauty that is you?
