Prayers for the Helpless

To all the sadness in the world,
When happiness inside, is curled,
Comfortably, warmly by the flames,
I pray, whilst all happiness shames.

For all the lonely people left,
The sad and lonely people, ever so deft,
The ones which pain is indebted to,
I pray for every single one of you.

The ones who’s lives were taken with haste,
To those whose tears are thicker than paste,
I pray your hearts will heal someday,
Someday not so long away.

To the cruelty in your eyes,
Of a past pain it signifies,
I pray for whatever makes you mean,
The hurts that shall remain unseen.

For all the people, present and past,
Who try to get through life so fast,
Hurting won’t reduce the pain,
It only makes you feel insane.

God Help Everyone but Me

Posted in Poems, Prayers, Sad Poems with tags , , , , , , , on June 1, 2013 by Myra's Circle

God give me mercy,
God give me strength,
God give me courage,
To hold on for this length.

God give me friendship,
God give me hope,
God give me happiness,
When with sadness I can’t cope.

God give me wonder,
God give me awe,
God give me peace,
To the very core.

God give me love,
God please, smile on me,
God give me a break,
Because this is killing me.

God give me light,
God chase the darkness,
And God don’t forget,
The darkest recess.

God guide the hopeless,
God help the sad,
God help the lonely,
The ones who’ve gone mad.

God help the shelterless,
God help the starving,
God help everyone,
Except for me.

A Humble Prayer

I ask for peace,

In the minds of the people,

For forgiveness when it is but impossible,

I ask for happiness,

In everyone, regardless of what they have done.

I ask of you to smile upon all,

Whether good or bad,

No matter what their sin.

I ask a blessing,

on those who are unaware of their own beauty,

Those misfortunate souls,

Without direction.

I ask for people to wake up,

See their purpose to help others,

Who are unfortunate in ways they’ll never know.

I ask of you to make people aware,

Of the hard work they need,

To accomplish these things.

I ask for humility,

To those people,

Who have life so easy.

A Prayer for all the Broken Hearts

Posted in Poems, Prayers with tags , , , , , , , , on December 15, 2012 by Myra's Circle

I pray for the cruelly slaughtered,

The sad hearts in the aftermath,

The once bright futures destroyed.

I pray for the life to be that never was,

The lonely souls that were left behind,

The once perfect hearts broken.

I pray for the dreams that have been lost,

The memories of someone who was little but great,

The futures that were taken from us.

I pray for the minds that have been killed,

The seamless dreams that were destroyed,

The love of many lost loved ones.

I extend this prayer to all the lonely people, the dead, the dying, and those who suffer because of it, especially the children at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut.  May their souls rest in peace, and may the burden less on their families.

Space of a Heartbeat

Posted in Poems, Prayers with tags , , , , , , , on June 13, 2012 by Myra's Circle

Let me be renewed,

In the space of a heartbeat.

Make me happy,

In the space of a heartbeat.

Beautify me,

Amaze me,

Love me,

Care for me,

In the space of a heartbeat.

In the space of a heartbeat,

Let me be renewed,

Cared for.

I pray that I will be all these things and more.

My Little Sanctuary

Posted in Poems, Prayers with tags , , , , , , , , , , on June 12, 2012 by Myra's Circle

If I could hide inside myself,

Each and every day,

If I could put you on a shelf,

All locked away,

If I could find a sanctuary,

As small as it may be,

If I could call it my own,

If I could never be alone

If I could be with you I’d just be glad.

For in this little sanctuary,

You and I will be together.

If we find this little sanctuary,

We’ll be safe from all bad weather.

So I offer this small prayer now,

In hope that it will be received,

With listening ears and happy smiles,

To offer me reprieve.
