Some Hope

I look at the sky and curse,

How could life be worse?

Now I know that I was hoping,

That someone I loved would be coping.

I’m smart enough, now to know,

That was some hope.

I scream at the sky and weep,

Falling into a deathly sleep,

A blessing, a secret dream,

I’m not as worthy as you seem.

Now, however, I know I’m at your throat,

And that was some hope.

Too bad dreams only harness a certain power,

Power breathed a little lower.

I run down that steep slope,

And I know that was some hope.
